Things were fine before…

Mid-20th century we managed to throw every imaginable natural system of the Earth that relates to man off course.

We wiped large land mammals from the plains, and then confined what was left for our consumption to warehouses. Separated grains from prairies, genetically modified them, and planted them apart from the rest of nature. Consequentially, animal diseases have proliferated and spread to man, and imbalanced nutrition also make those who partake sick. Their manure, which is normally a blessing, has become a poison to our land, air, and water. Then, all the crops are deficient and the “soil” is supplemented with minerals mined and trucked across the globe.

Our solution? Let’s grow some meat in a laboratory, with a bunch more inputs. Put plants in energy and input-intensive tubes of water.

This really seems to be more of the same hubris.
