“There’s not enough land to feed everyone! The world is overpopulated! Quit eating meat!!!”

I love having the opportunity to poke holes in this craziness, but unfortunately, it happens way too often.

Cow farts are not ripping holes in the atmosphere. Concentrated feed operations, however, are disastrous to the planet, life we are supposed to be stewarding, and our own health and economies. It’s essential that they become extinct in our lifetimes.

We need cows to help heal the planet. Remember from grade school learning about buffalo covering this continent “as far as the eye could see”. This land was covered with large mammals, and they built the amazing top soil several feet deep, which settlers depleted in record time.

So, meat is rich people food and the planet cannot sustain enough to feed everyone? Hmmmm… When was the last time you drove on a highway? How much grass did you drive past that highway departments run tractors across on the regular? Let’s save some state expenses, and award grazing rights to young mobile farmers. This seems like a good starting point — after all the interstate highways are lined with nutrient-dense land-healing food, lets revisit this conversation…
