Routines
As the world dramatically changes fast and permanently, facing one of the greatest global challenges in modern times, I’m giving thanks for the little things.
Our chickens still need water and food every day. George still makes a beeline, hauling from across the farm to greet and follow me around. Frankie still jumps on top of the feed can and expects special treatment, which she gets.
The star magnolia in the backyard is full in white blooms, and the pink peach blossoms in front are starting to crack. The yellow daffodils and purple crocuses are making their ephemeral appearance. I’ll need to cut grass again soon…
The compost piles requires oxygen every day, and give me a nice pitchfork workout session.
Best of all, I get to love on my incredible wife, and share the happenings of the day with my son.
I’m deeply grateful the most wonderful things in life are recession-proof.
