Nobility

The founders determined that there would be no titles of nobility in the US. This is an important aspect to framework of our country. At the time, some actually wanted George Washington to be king, which he refused.

People are people, though, and government representatives gradually attained elevation. Politicians are placed on platforms with special privileges and fancy pins in their collars, enjoying eternally-increasing salaries. Even voluntarily within groups, individuals are put on pedestals with titles—some organizations this seems to be their objective, even making orders and degrees a basis.

The problem with this is that when we make people greater than people, God becomes less.
