My favorite tool
On the Farmer to Farmer podcast, Chris Blanchard (rest in peace) asked Karl Hammer what his favorite tool is. The response from one of my farming heroes revealed wisdom from years of healing the earth and growing a remarkable organization. Without hesitation, Karl said my voice.
His answer came from great experience working with others, knowing that that he could direct infinite more energy than he’d ever be able to muster from his own body. Hopefully someday I’ll be mature as a farmer and an entrepreneur. Right now, my favorite tool is a little more tactile much more easily attained: X-Treme Tape.
This self-bonding silicone tape is a miracle. There is no adhesive, it simply stretches up to three times its original length, and melts into itself. You can wrap this stuff tight around practically anything, and it basically creates a custom fitting on it. I’ve used it to fix a lamp, an egg basket, a curtain rod, a loose shower head, a broken side view mirror of a Honda Accord, and so much more. This stuff is so essential you should have a roll in your car, kitchen, and tool box. Definitely seek after maturity and wisdom, and get some X-Treme Tape in the meantime.
