Let them see you sweat

Your kids, that is.

Small scale farming and cottage industry offers so many wonderful benefits for the family. Naturally, they were built around domestic life.

One aspect that has been on my mind, as our first son tags along for everything we do, is their witness to hard work. He won’t have some dream of what mom and dad do, and maybe get to see it on take-your-kid-to-work day. Our labor is a part of his every day, he’s directly engaged with our collective livelihood.

This seems holistic and appropriate, and makes me happy.
