Today I messaged a friend starting the message with “Hey, what are…” and G-Board suggested a question mark at the end.
It prompted this thought: probably one of the simplest patterns for natural language recognition is removing many words we use that don’t mean anything.
Like, literally, just, ironically, very, really, so…
If a word doesn’t mean anything to Google, Alexa, or Siri, it’s probably even more meaningless to a human, and we’d all be better off for leaving it out.
