It’s going to get pretty awesome for people with imaginations
With industrialization, we saw the commodification of everything.
Homes, food, people, and then when nothing else was left to reduce to their profit margins, factories started cranking out new problems and new solutions for you to buy to fix them.
There is a lot of fear around automation and jobs in the coming years. What if they actually free us? What if we can get back to our roots, back to nature because needs are met at a level of efficiency never before seen?
I cringe at the thought of robots operating hydroponic gardens. And I don’t think AI will ever have a monopoly on food. I believe that deep down inside of every person is a desire to connect with the soil. Society is still pretty distracted with assembly lines at the moment, but as the industrial age comes to an end people are going to get back at what we were meant for: co-creating with nature.
And we are going to have some crazy tools like never before. Any thing I can think of for versions 11 and 12 of our chicken coops or sheep RV’s (Winnebaaahhhgo?) will be able to be produced. If you think Menards and Amazon provide amazing possibilities, just wait for being able to have anything you can think of, literally.
We need a van, not concerned about brands or flashy curves. Instead, we input some specifications, dimensions, material, and other needs, and something is custom built, maybe automatically and just down the street. Cutting out shipping hundreds of parts from all over the world, marketing, massive organizations required to sustain a model for a year and sell it, the price will be better than you can comprehend, as well.
Very special, capable, and versatile equipment and machinery will push the limits. We’ll have plenty of spare time and resources.
I believe it’s going to get pretty exciting for our inner children. If you can dream it you’ll be able to see it.
