Indirect Lighting

At the top of the list of things I hate, you’ll find overhead lighting (florescent lighting receives its own trophy of terror).

Overhead lighting is clumsy, thoughtless, and indiscriminate. It vomits all over the room without care to what matters. It causes my brow to cast a shadow over my eyes.

Beth walks into each room, flipping the switch on the wall, spotlighting everything from above. Following behind, instinctively I turn on lamps that have been placed purposefully within the space. I click off the light sticking out of the highest point, put there for the sole reason it’s the mathematical center of the space.
