“If you’re not growing, you’re dying."

This is a fallacy. And like most sophisms, it is easily disputed if you’re willing to observe nature.

Much of nature goes through seasonal dormancy. Some seeds require it for propagation.

The trimming of grass, such as by grazing ruminants, ultimately strengthens roots and stimulates root growth.

Broody hens will lose significant body weight, sometimes becoming so weak they are unable to walk, to bring forth completely new life.

Life isn’t dependent of growth, rather adaptation.
