“All of humanity’s problems stem from man’s inability to sit quietly in a room alone.” ― Blaise Pascal, Pensées

Then, according to Pascal, meditation is the solution to all problems?

I know that my inability to write well, or apply my mind to learning or building with code, comes down to being able to focus when things are boring. To not let a million other thoughts and distractions take me away from what I ought to be doing would be my ultimate superpower.

Any worries I may have similarly come from, instead of focusing on real time actions I can take, thinking about all the things I don’t have control over Usually they aren’t even in the same space in time!

So I’ve been working on getting back into regular meditation. It’s alarming to me just how how of control my thinking is. In a 20 minute block of time, I don’t think I have been successful in several sessions to go even a minute without catching my mind racing about something.
