Honing the Skill of Buying Stuff

If you grew up with a lack of means, you may have a poverty mindset to need to get over, and understand how this title is not a joke.

The first year of operating my own business, the funds just weren’t there to get everything needed to grow. And then, the challenge became not stressing or deliberating too much — when the money’s in the bank and something is needed, order up. Much time has been, lost in efficiency or even directly lost sales, by waiting for no reason other than doubt to get the tools or equipment needed to level up.

Now, several years into calling the shots, I’ve just gotten pretty good at getting what’s needed, and technology really helps.

If there’s something we need for the business, in essentially the same amount of time as adding the item to a list, I skip ahead and “buy now” from my phone right then and there. Often forgetting I needed that blinker bulb or the quick connect adapter, the package arrives just in time to remind me to finish that task.
