Entrepreneurs cultivate energy
When you consider an entrepreneurs’ contribution to the world, what comes to mind?
Maybe it’s making and selling widgets, providing some service. More crudely, you may feel they simply make money. You might sense, from a more enlightened perspective, that they are building a brand or organization, and you’re getting warmer.
An entrepreneur sacrifices time, labor, and capital, indeed bringing to market something the public wants or needs. But what they are fulfilling is only the ripe fruit on the branch. And the entrepreneur is a groundskeeper, caring for the tree producing the fruit, even the entire supporting ecosystem — a virtuous cycle connecting people, places, and energy, in such a way that the outputs are greater than the inputs, able to sustain itself, grow and spread.
