Breaking a Purposeful Sweat Daily

Starting my day with farm chores has grown on me, a portion of my morning I’m most grateful for.

Compost piles are alive, and require daily attention to make sure all the good aerobic bacteria can breath, and there isn’t opportunity for the anaerobic bacteria to take over and make things putrid. I’m still currently turning the mounds manually, working among my chicken buddies.

This results in getting to break a bit of a sweat each day, regardless of the weather. Exercise is so important, and it feels good sweating whether at the gym or on a run, though there’s something extra satisfying to me that this exertion each morning is also part of my livelihood, and is itself creating and supporting life.
