Be nice to Alexa

Do you say “please” and “thank you” to your smart speaker? While that may be a little much, I have actually been thinking lately about etiquette with digital assistants.

A.I. is increasingly a regular part of our daily lives as its context and capabilities expand. Which means more and more of our interactions will be with machines. You’re not going to hurt Siri’s feelings by talking down to her, but being rude to a computer is still demeaning.

My point is manners are as much for you as they are for others. Your actions, especially when no human is watching, not only reveal who you are, but shape your character as well.
