Backing in
Whether you should back in to a parking spot or pull in sounds like a debate between Kramer and Costanza.
But it is something worth thinking about, and there is a right answer.
Backing in is strategically a better move for at least a couple reasons.
First, it’s safer. Instead of potentially backing out into passing traffic with limited visibility, you are facing passers-by the entire time you maneuver your vehicle into its spot.
Second, if you able to back in, you know it and can take advantage of the opening. If you pull right in, you don’t know if there will be any congestion when it’s time to leave.
