Andrew Yang is our only presidential candidate able to prepare us for the 21st century

Last night’s debates were particularly disappointing. The “moderators” were unsurprisingly biased, not only conceding disproportionate amounts of times to three selected candidates, but also seemingly feeding favorable questions to their favorites.

This is unfortunate because it resulted in ignoring the only thoughtful candidate, someone who actually has the foresight and ability to help prepare us for the tectonic shifts that have begun in our world. Not only was Andrew Yang given the least amount of time to speak (less than 3 minutes all night), there is convincing evidence his mic was muted throughout the evening. He mentioned this afterwards, and there is clear evidence of it in at least one clip (embedded on the left).

We are going through the fourth revolution in human history, and the Information Age is flipping every dynamic in our world exponentially faster and more drastically than all the ones before combined. Where the Industrial and Agricultural Revolutions took hundreds and thousands of years to come into full bloom, you and I are seeing the microprocessor melt the megapolitical and power structures of our world before our very eyes.

There is one person running for president, and probably anywhere in politics, with a grasp on what this means for our country and world. One good-hearted example comes from his exhaustive list of policies:

MAKING TAXES FUN

As President, I will…

  • Create a federal holiday on the date taxes are due.
  • Provide a report to every taxpayer with a breakdown of where their tax dollars go (Social Security, military, medical research, etc.) with shared video stories of what their tax money makes possible.
  • Allow each American to direct 1% of their taxes to a specific project, department or activity of government (e.g. Veterans Affairs, National Endowment for the Arts, etc.).
  • Bring 2 taxpayers who filed their taxes early from each state to a celebration at the White House with members of Congress on Revenue Day.

While this is a seemingly jovial addition to the encyclopedic list, it’s actually one of many of Andrew’s policies that express understanding of the huge shift in the power structure of the nation state. In The Sovereign Individual, the authors predict a transformation away from nation-state: the government will inevitably need to treat citizenry more as customers than subjects. Sounds great to me! I believe Andrew Yang has not only familiarized himself with the concepts expressed in this ground-breaking late 90’s book, but has a vision to help get us safely to the other side of the earthquake. This is one of several policies that embrace the inevitable new relationship between bureaucrats and citizens.

If elected president, Yang has a unique vision to help transition our country through this revolution, setting the United States in the best position to attract the most talented and desirable people from all over the world to build with us. Just as we did in the Industrial Age.
(Side note: many people are worried about China — I believe in its very DNA, China does not have the creativity to command power in the Information Age, because communism squashes the individual and creativity. They may be able to crank out knock-offs of our products in factories better than anyone else, but they lack the imagination to be leaders in the coming age. Freedom will reign supreme more in the days ahead than ever before.)

I don’t agree with all of his policies, and it’s only possible to agree with anyone 100% if you are unable to think for yourself. But, the fact that it is obvious he grasps the times we are living in, and has a tangible plan for sailing through, makes him the most viable candidate in 2020 at this point. If his words are are able to get out to the general population, he will prove to be a real contender to the massive selection of Democratic candidates, and to Trump.

Waking up this morning to #LetYangSpeak as a top trend on Twitter, I would say the old antics of the MSM continue to die hard. We may thank MSNBC for helping Yang get noticed after all, despite their attempts to the contrary. Hopefully people are saying who’s the Asian the Fake News is trying to ignore?, and find his genuine, in-depth interviews recently given on The Ben Shapiro Show, and The Rubin Report, and start to scratch their heads.
